Interview with Maja Tomasevic, GSC Vice-president (2002-2006)

How long have you been a Council Member?

I was a Council Member from 2002 to 2006.

What were the actions that marked that period of the GSC work?

We were really active throughout that period and I'd especially mention the activities like One sweet – one child and volunteering in the orphanage, Center Zastiti me, geriatrics and Dr. Miroslav Zotovic Center.

We also took part on the High School Students Day celebrations, where I lead the Gymnasium's team in years 2003, 2004, 2005. The GSC also helped organize the day of Professional Orienation for students of the primary schools and did the statistics of students' absences throughout the academic year and the class with least absences got a one-day trip to Visegrad in 2004 and Sarajevo in 2005.

What were other actions directly related to Gymnasium that you undertook?

Besides making statistics, we organized school parties, humanitarian actions to help the students of our school who were in need and we coordinated cooperation with the Second Gymnasium, Kragujevac.

What was the cooperation with the school administration and the Parents Council like?

Well, it was good. We got everything we asked for from the administration, but we didn't really ask much.

When you joined it, the Student Council was just developing, so was there some help from other organizations?

Of course. We went to various educational seminars in Sarajevo, Mostar and Tuzla and Youth Communication Center also helped us. After the Banja Luka Union of High School Students was founded, we also had a good cooperation with them.
